Deal insights
Apple MacBook Pro 13" (Touch Bar) with Intel Core i5, 8GB, 256GB SSD is a Good Deal, offering a proven MacBook chassis and reasonable CPU specs for this price while falling short of current premium platform performance. The refurbished condition and modest RAM/storage make it priced attractively relative to new premium models but typical for a used/refurbished Intel-era 13-inch MacBook Pro.
Here is why
When selecting traditional laptop computers, focus on performance, display quality, battery life, and portability. Here is how this product performs:
1.
Performance (8th‑gen Core i5; Turbo 4.1GHz; integrated GPU) : At this price segment the listed 8th‑gen Core i5 is typical for lower mid-range refurbished laptops. It is weaker than modern premium Apple Silicon options but matches or slightly exceeds many budget to mid-range Intel configurations for everyday tasks; buyers who need sustained multi-core performance should prefer newer M-series or H-class CPUs.
2.
Battery Life (unlisted) : Battery life is not stated, which matters for laptop fit. For a refurbished Intel MacBook Pro expect manufacturer 'up to' claims in the mid-range band (≈8–12h in mixed use historically); buyers should double-check real-world battery condition and advertised capacity on the product page.
3.
Display Quality (13.3" Retina; True Tone) : Retina 13.3" with True Tone is noticeably better than typical budget displays and aligns with mid-range to premium expectations for color and sharpness. Exact resolution and brightness are not listed but Retina panels historically outperform FHD panels in perceived quality at this size.
4.
Portability (aluminum chassis; clamshell formfactor) : Aluminum chassis and compact 13" clamshell design match premium build cues and are better than many budget plastic laptops; weight was not specified but similar models typically sit in the expected mid-range portability band. The build quality supports the unit's resale value and justifies part of the price.
Deal price at $569.99: sits in the lower-to-mid part of the mid-range band for laptops rather than budget. The unit is refurbished, which helps explain the price versus new premium Apple models.
This Good Deal suits buyers who want a compact MacBook experience on a budget, for everyday productivity, document work, and light photo editing. Double-check warranty/return terms for the refurbished unit and consider a RAM/storage upgrade or an external SSD if you need heavier multitasking or larger local storage.
