Deal insights
The BowFlex SelectTech 3.1S Bench is a Good Deal, offering multi-position adjustability and a solid-listed 480 lb capacity at a mid-range price that matches buyer expectations for a branded adjustable bench.
Here is why
When selecting standard weight training benches, look at weight capacity, adjustability, and build/stability. Here is how this product performs:
1.
Weight Capacity (480 lb) : At $159.99 this capacity is lower than many mid-range typical listings (which often state ≈600–1,000 lb) and closer to budget claims. It is adequate for most home users but not standout for heavy lifting compared with typical mid-range benchmarks.
2.
Adjustability (4 positions; -20° to 90°) : Four back positions including decline and upright match basic multi-position mid-range expectations but sit at the simpler end of mid-range adjustability where 5–9 positions are common. Good for general FID-style work but not as precise as higher-end benches.
3.
Build & Stability (stowable design; leg/frame unlisted) : Listing notes a stowable design but does not state tube gauge or leg type. For the mid-range price band buyers typically expect thicker tubing and wider bases; verify tube gauge and welds on the product page since stability and true working capacity depend on those details.
Deal price at $159.99: sits in the mid-range price band for standard weight benches. The price aligns with typical mid-range offerings where stronger frames and multi-position adjustability are expected; condition is unspecified so assume new retail pricing.
Overall, this Good Deal suits users who want a versatile adjustable bench for home workouts and moderate heavy lifting. Double-check the frame tube gauge and exact leg/support details on the product page if you plan to work near or above the listed 480 lb capacity; confirm warranty terms for peace of mind.
