Deal insights
The Probrico Black Door Knobs Privacy Door Knob DLS09 is a Great Deal, offering premium-priced materials and clear fitment details at a price notably below its recent average. The listing delivers stainless construction, complete mounting hardware, and standard residential compatibility that align with higher-tier expectations while undercutting typical recent pricing.
Here is why
When selecting door knobs, consider functionality, installation and compatibility, and material and finish. Here is how this product performs:
1.
Functionality (privacy lock; thumb-turn; coin-access emergency) : Functionality matches typical privacy sets and is typical for mid-range to premium privacy knobs. It provides standard bedroom/bathroom locking behavior with an emergency coin/open option, which is expected and appropriate for this price band.
2.
Installation & Compatibility (1-3/8"–1-3/4"; 2.38" center-to-center; latch) : Installation specs are explicit and line up with premium expectations for clear fit ranges and included hardware. This matches or slightly exceeds typical mid-range detail and supports straightforward installation for standard residential doors.
3.
Material & Finish (stainless steel; matte black; round rosette) : Material and finish are closer to premium norms where stainless and durable coatings are common. The stainless construction and matte black finish are better than basic zinc alloy alternatives typically found at lower price points.
Deal price at $95.04: sits at the low end of the premium band for door knobs. It is priced well below its recent 30-day average of about $155.12, which helps justify the premium positioning for a mechanical privacy set.
Overall, this Great Deal is a good choice for buyers who want a durable privacy knob with a premium finish and straightforward installation. Confirm warranty and return terms and double-check the door thickness/backset match during purchase. The lower-than-average price makes it attractive for bathroom or bedroom privacy applications where solid metal construction and a consistent matte black finish matter.
