Deal insights
The JONATHAN Y Horizon 6.5 ft. Scalloped Fringe Beach Umbrella is a Good Deal, offering a typical mid-range footprint, reasonable materials, and convenient auto-open/tilt controls at a price slightly below recent levels. The coverage and listed fabric/frame choices align with what buyers expect in the mid-range segment, making it a practical option for casual patio or beach use.
Here is why
When selecting patio umbrellas, focus on canopy coverage, durability and materials, and operation and adjustability. Here is how this product performs:
1.
Canopy Coverage (78 in diameter; 84 in height; 40.5 ft² area) : This 6.5 ft (≈78 in) round canopy sits squarely in typical mid-range/mid-size coverage. It matches common table/beach umbrellas rather than large patio cantilevers, so coverage is appropriate for a small table or personal shade.
2.
Durability & Materials (polyester canopy; fiberglass frame; iron pole; wind vent) : Materials align with mid-range expectations for an affordable umbrella: polyester canopy with fiberglass ribs and iron pole is typical rather than premium. The vent and UV protection are positive mid-range features but the iron pole suggests less corrosion resistance than aluminum/alloy premium builds.
3.
Operation & Adjustability (auto open; push-button tilt) : Auto-open plus push-button tilt is a mid-range convenience feature and matches benchmark expectations for smoother operation. This control set is typical for center-pole models and improves usability compared with basic push-up designs.
Deal price at $89.24: sits near the middle of the mid-range band for patio umbrellas. It is priced below its recent 90-day average of about $96.06, which modestly improves value for a mid-range center-pole umbrella.
This Good Deal is suitable for shoppers who want a mid-size, easy-to-use umbrella with UV protection and a vented canopy for light wind. Double-check the pole diameter and any included base hardware if you need a heavier-duty setup; confirm return and warranty terms if condition or durability is a priority.
