Deal insights
The ColourTree 8' x 8' Shade Sail Grey is a Great Deal, offering a small-coverage budget sail at a price below recent averages while matching common budget material choices. The listed HDPE/200 GSM claim and tie/post mounting approach are consistent with entry-level sails, and the low price is the main value driver.
Here is why
When selecting shade sails, focus on coverage area, material and protection, and mounting and hardware. Here is how this product performs:
1.
Coverage Area (96" × 96"; nominal size) : This is a small canvas roughly comparable to sub-100 ft² budget sails. For the budget segment this size is typical; buyers expecting larger mid-range coverage should look to bigger 12'–16' options.
2.
Material & Protection (HDPE and nylon; 200 GSM; UV-stabilized) : 200 GSM HDPE sits within the higher end of common budget claims and aligns with typical mid-level mesh weights; for a budget-priced sail this is at least typical and suggests reasonable UV shading. The listing does not state a specific %UV-block or UPF rating, which is common; buyers wanting exact shade percentage can confirm on the product page.
3.
Mounting & Hardware (tie/post mounting) : Basic tie/post mounting is typical for budget sails where only corner D-rings or simple rope is expected. Full hardware kits or reinforced edge cable are not indicated and are more commonly found in mid-range or premium models, so expect to buy additional turnbuckles or straps if a robust installation is needed.
Deal price at $16.14: sits below typical budget-level pricing for shade sails and well under common mid-range offers. It is priced below its recent 30-day average of about $22.85, which makes the listing cheaper than its recent typical level.
Overall, this Great Deal is a sensible buy for buyers who need a small, inexpensive shade panel for patios or garden spots and who are comfortable adding or upgrading hardware. Double-check the included hardware and exact area measurement if you need a complete installation kit or precise covered square footage; consider upgrading to a mid-range sail if you want reinforced edges or integrated mounting hardware.
