Deal insights
CRAFTSMAN V20 MAX Cordless Drill and Impact Driver is a Good Deal, offering a complete 2-tool kit with two 20V batteries and competitive torque figures at a price below its recent average. The kit matches typical budget-to-entry mid-range contents and performance for home and light-professional tasks, while the lower-than-average price improves its value proposition.
Here is why
When selecting power tool combo kits, focus on included pieces, battery system, and tool performance. Here is how this product performs:
1.
Included Pieces (drill + impact; 2x 20V batteries; charger & bag) : This matches the typical 2-tool combo found at budget and lower mid-range price bands. The accessory set and bag are standard value additions and align with consumer-focused starter kits.
2.
Battery System (20V Li-ion; 2x 2Ah) : 2Ah 20V packs are typical for budget kits and toward the lower end of mid-range capacity. For intermittent DIY work this is adequate; buyers expecting longer continuous runtime should consider 3–4Ah packs typical of mid-range kits.
3.
Tool Performance (280 in-lbs; 0-1500 RPM; 3100 bpm) : Performance numbers align with the higher side of budget typicals and approach entry mid-range impact torque. Drill torque is modest vs. mid-range brushless options but the impact torque is competitive for most fastening tasks, making performance acceptable for general DIY and light pro use.
Deal price at $99: sits near the upper end of the budget band for power tool combos. It is priced below its recent 30-day average of about $112.22, which makes the current offer relatively attractive for a mainstream consumer brand.
Overall, this Good Deal is suitable for homeowners and DIYers who want a dependable drill+impact combo and basic on-site flexibility without paying mid-range premiums. Double-check warranty and charger specs if you plan heavy daily use, and consider higher-Ah or brushless kits if sustained pro-level runtime or higher continuous torque is required.
