Deal insights
The Maxpw 6Ft Flat Plug Extension Cord Power Strip 7 AC Outlets 4 USB Ports is a Great Deal, offering above-typical surge protection and a dense outlet/USB layout at a price that undercuts recent averages. Key strengths are the 1700 J surge rating and four USB ports including Type-C, which compare favorably to many units in its price band.
Here is why
When selecting power strips, focus on surge protection, outlet layout, cord length/plug design, and USB charging capacity. Here is how this product performs:
1.
Protection & Power Rating (1700 J; 15 A max; 125 V) : At this price segment the 1700 J rating is noticeably better than typical budget units and sits solidly into mid-range protection levels. This level of advertised joules is a meaningful upgrade compared with many low-cost strips, and supports the product's value claim.
2.
Outlet Configuration (7 AC outlets; 6 ft flat cord; 45° right-angle) : The seven outlets with a flat, right-angle 6 ft cord are typical to slightly better than typical for mid-range strips, offering flexible placement and good outlet density. The layout aligns with common mid-range convenience features rather than premium rack or heavy-duty designs.
3.
USB Charging (4 USB ports; 2 Type-C; 17 W total) : Four USB ports with two Type-C is competitive for this price band, though per-port power is modest (shared ~3.4 A and total ≈17 W) compared with mid-range units that often include a 20W+ PD port. For typical phone/tablet charging it is adequate, but it is not a high-wattage PD fast-charging hub.
Deal price at $15.99: sits near the lower end of the mid-range band for power strips and below many mid-range listings. It is priced below its recent 30-day average of about $20.22, making the current price more appealing for a feature-rich strip.
Overall, this Great Deal fits buyers who want stronger-than-basic surge protection, many AC outlets, and USB-C support without paying mid-to-high mid-range prices. Double-check warranty and certification details on the product page if surge warranty or UL/ETL listing matters to you.
