Deal insights
The Sony 65" Class BRAVIA 8 II OLED 4K UHD Smart Google TV with Gemini (2025) is a Good Deal, offering flagship-leaning display tech and a full Google TV platform at a price that aligns with higher mid-range expectations. Display and smart platform push it toward the upper mid-range, while the 65-inch size is standard for that band and supports the price point.
Here is why
When selecting oled tvs, focus on display quality, screen size, smart platform, and gaming/connectivity capabilities. Here is how this product performs:
1.
Display Quality (OLED 4K UHD; XR Processor AI; enhanced contrast) : For an upper mid-range 65-inch model, the listed OLED 4K with Sony's XR processing is in line with higher mid-range expectations and leans toward premium picture tuning. Benchmark notes show flagship panel generations (QD‑OLED or OLED evo) push prices higher; this listing claims advanced processing and color but does not explicitly name a QD‑OLED panel, so it matches typical upper mid-range rather than clear top-tier flagship hardware.
2.
Screen Size (65 inches) : A 65-inch screen is the common mid-range sweet spot and matches the mid-range typical size. Size supports the listed price being above budget levels but below the large-format premium band dominated by 77-inch+ sets.
3.
Smart Platform & Connectivity (Google TV; Gemini 2025) : Google TV and a Gemini 2025 mention place the platform at the fully featured end of smart OS expectations for mid-range and premium models. This aligns with benchmarks where Google TV is typical for Sony mid-range flagships and justifies part of the price via software and assistant integrations.
4.
Gaming & Inputs (unlisted) : HDMI/gaming details are not listed here; benchmarks show explicit HDMI 2.1, 120Hz, and VRR support are common selling points for mid and premium TVs. Buyers who need 4K@120 or multiple HDMI 2.1 inputs should double-check the product page to confirm gaming inputs.
Deal price at $2799.99: sits in the upper part of the mid-range band and below typical premium prices for OLED TVs. No explicit recent price history is provided; as a Sony flagship-model naming suggests, some of the price likely reflects brand positioning and new-model premium features.
This Good Deal suits buyers who want a 65-inch OLED with Sony image processing and the Google TV/Gemini experience without stepping into larger premium 77-inch models. Great choice for movie and general living-room use ; confirm gaming input details and any bundled warranty or return terms before buying if HDMI 2.1/4×HDMI is important.
