Deal insights
The Splinterix 12x16 Picture Frame Gold Vintage Matted to 8.5x11 Print is a Great Deal, offering a common mid-range size, tempered glass protection, and a polystyrene gold finish at a price substantially below its recent typical level. The key specs align with mid-range expectations while the lower current price improves value compared with recent listings.
Here is why
When selecting wall & tabletop picture frames, look at display size, material and finish, glazing/protection, and mounting/orientation. Here is how this product performs:
1.
Display Size (7.9 x 10.5 in; 12 x 16 in) : This is a typical mid-range offering: 12x16 overall with an 8.5x11 mat opening matches common medium-frame sizes. Size and matting are well aligned with mid-range expectations for portrait or horizontal prints.
2.
Material & Finish (polystyrene frame; gold finish; tempered glass) : Polystyrene with a gold finish is typical for the lower-to-middle part of the mid-range band; it provides decorative look without premium solid-wood build. Given the mid-range price position, the material is expected and explains some of the savings versus solid-wood premium frames.
3.
Glazing & Protection (tempered glass; scratch-resistant) : Tempered glass is better than the common acrylic used in budget frames and matches mid-range benchmarks. The scratch-resistant note is consistent with higher glazing quality found at this price point.
4.
Mounting & Orientation (wall and tabletop; horizontal and vertical) : Dual mounting and reversible orientation are standard for mid-range frames. This matches typical expectations and adds practical flexibility without increasing cost materially.
Deal price at $36.09: sits in the mid-range band for individual frames of this size. It is priced well below its recent 90-day average of about $64.21, which makes the current price notably more attractive for a mid-range spec set.
Overall, this Great Deal is a good fit for buyers who want a classic 12x16 decorative frame with matting and real tempered glass without paying premium wood-frame prices. Double-check assembly/mounting orientation and return or warranty terms if that matters to you, since the price advantage may reflect a value-material choice.
