Deal insights
Martha Stewart Greeley Forged High Carbon Stainless Steel 14 Piece Knife Block Set is a Good Deal, offering a typical full 14-piece complement, forged stainless blades, and an acacia block at a price below its recent average. The feature set matches mid-range expectations for count, construction claims, and accessories, and the sub-average recent price gives it reasonable value for home cooks.
Here is why
When selecting block knife sets, focus on included pieces, blade materials, and included accessories. Here is how this product performs:
1.
Included Pieces (14-piece set; chef knife; sharpening steel) : Piece count is typical for mid-range block sets and matches benchmark expectations for a full home kit. A 14-piece complement is common and provides a useful practical range without being unusually large.
2.
Blade Materials (forged construction; high-carbon stainless) : Claimed forged construction and high-carbon stainless aligns with mid-range norms where named alloys and heat treatment are expected. The listing does not give an explicit alloy grade or Rockwell hardness; that is common but buyers who prioritize long-term edge retention may want to confirm those details.
3.
Included Accessories (acacia wood; kitchen shears; sharpening steel) : Accessories match mid-range expectations: solid acacia block plus basic maintenance tools. This is typical for sets priced in the mid-range where useful but not premium accessory packages are standard.
Deal price at $72.24: sits in the lower end of the mid-range band for block knife sets. It is priced below its recent 30-day average of about $84.99, which makes the offer more attractive for a branded forged set.
Overall, this Good Deal fits buyers who want a complete, forged-style 14-piece home set with an acacia block and basic maintenance tools. Double-check warranty and return details and confirm blade alloy/heat‑treat claims if you care about long-term edge retention. The lower price relative to recent listings makes it a sensible buy for everyday kitchen use.
