Deal insights
The HP ProDesk SFF 600 Desktop is a Great Deal, offering a modern 6-core Intel i5, 16 GB RAM and a 512 GB NVMe SSD at a price that undercuts typical recent levels while fitting expected small‑form‑factor workstation use. Core performance and storage are at or above budget expectations and consistent with lower mid-range capability, while the SFF chassis and modest power draw align with typical HP business desktops.
Here is why
When selecting tower computers, prioritize CPU and memory performance, storage and upgradability, and chassis size/cooling. Here is how this product performs:
1.
Performance Profile (i5-10400F; 6 cores/12 threads; 512 GB NVMe) : At this price band the 6-core i5 with 16 GB and a 512 GB NVMe is noticeably better than typical budget CPUs and matches lower mid-range performance expectations. This configuration supports smooth office multitasking and light content work; it is not a premium workstation but compares favorably to many budget prebuilt systems.
2.
Upgradability & Connectivity (16 GB DDR4; expandable to 64 GB; USB-C + USB-A) : Connectivity is strong for an SFF budget/mid-leaning unit, matching or exceeding typical budget benchmarks with USB-C and multiple USB-A ports. Limited SFF expansion is expected; the listing omits slot count which is common for OEM SFF units, so buyers who plan major upgrades should confirm internal slot availability.
3.
Chassis Size & Cooling (Small Form Factor; 10.63 x 3.74 x 11.93 in; 80 W power) : The small-form-factor chassis and modest power draw are typical for business-class SFF desktops and align with budget-to-lower mid expectations for cooling and internal space. This limits large GPU or extensive cooling upgrades but is appropriate for office and space-constrained setups.
Deal price at $649.98: sits near the upper end of the budget band for tower computers. It is priced well below its recent 30-day average of about $955.30, which improves the value case for a mainstream OEM like HP.
Overall, this Great Deal suits buyers who need a reliable office or light-creator desktop with solid multitasking and fast storage without a premium price. Confirm expansion slot availability and warranty terms if you plan to add a discrete GPU or large memory upgrades, and note the small-form-factor chassis when planning cooling or long GPUs.
