Deal insights
The HP OMEN 45L Gaming PC is a Great Deal, offering strong memory and storage and solid CPU capability for the price while undercutting its recent average. Key strengths are the large 64 GB RAM and 2 TB PCIe Gen4 SSD combined with a high-wattage Gold PSU and plentiful I/O; the GPU is mid-range, so expect good 1080p/1440p play but not top-tier ray-tracing performance.
Here is why
When selecting tower computers, focus on system performance, memory and storage, and expandability and ports. Here is how this product performs:
1.
System Performance (i7-12700KF; 12 cores/20 threads; 4.90GHz boost; GTX 1660 SUPER) : At this price band the 12-core i7 is in line with mid-range to premium CPU expectations and is noticeably strong for multitasking and content work. The GTX 1660 SUPER is weaker than typical for a premium build and is more typical of lower mid-range gaming; expect solid 1080p performance but it lags modern RTX-class GPUs for higher-resolution or ray-traced workloads.
2.
Memory & Storage (64 GB DDR4; 2 TB PCIe Gen4) : These specs match premium benchmarks for memory and storage and are noticeably better than typical mid-range entries. Large RAM and a 2 TB Gen4 drive deliver near-premium capacity and speed, which is valuable for heavy multitasking, streaming, and large project workflows.
3.
Expandability & Ports (800W Gold; 10 USB ports; Gigabit Ethernet; PCIe slots) : Expandability and I/O are typical to slightly better than mid-range expectations, with a high-wattage Gold PSU and many USB ports supporting upgrades. Missing explicit Wi‑Fi or 2.5GbE listing is common in some OEM pages; buyers who need faster networking should confirm that option on the product page.
Deal price at $1799.99: sits in the mid-to-premium crossover area, below typical premium pricing but above the midpoint of common mid-range systems. It is priced notably below its recent 30-day average of about $2547.96, which improves the value case for a mainstream OEM like HP.
This Great Deal suits buyers who want a high-memory, high-storage gaming or content-creation desktop without paying full premium workstation prices. Confirm the GPU performance expectations for your target games and, if buying as an open-box/refurbished item, double-check warranty and return terms.
