Deal insights
The HP EliteDesk 800 Mini PC is a Great Deal. It pairs a high-efficiency Core i7, 16 GB RAM and a 512 GB NVMe with very complete I/O at a price well below recent typical levels, offering stronger-than-expected specs for this price point from a recognized OEM.
Here is why
When selecting mini computers, focus on performance, connectivity and expansion, and size and power. Here is how this product performs:
1.
Performance (Core i7-12700T; 16 GB DDR4; 512 GB NVMe; Intel UHD 770) : Mapped to a mid-range segment, the CPU and 16 GB/512 GB NVMe are at or above typical mid-range expectations. This configuration offers noticeably better multi-threaded capability than budget minis and aligns with common mid-range productivity systems.
2.
Connectivity & Expansion (Front USB-C; 6× rear USB-A; 100W PD) : Connectivity is stronger than typical mid-range boxes, with full-function USB-C PD, abundant USB ports and modern wireless support. The rich rear I/O and dual-display-ready outputs place it toward the higher end of mid-range for expandability and ports.
3.
Size & Power (7×6.9×1.35 in; 1.42 kg; 180W adapter) : Size and cooling match mid-range benchmarks for a compact, active‑cooled metal chassis. The 180W supply indicates headroom for higher-power configs or external GPUs and is consistent with stronger sustained performance versus typical budget adapters.
Deal price at $649.98: sits in the mid-range band for mini computers. It is priced well below its recent 90-day average of about $957.50, which makes the listing notable for an established brand like HP.
Overall, this Great Deal suits buyers who need a compact, business-class desktop for productivity, light content work, or multi-monitor office setups. Confirm warranty and return terms and double-check any internal expansion needs (additional RAM or M.2 slots) if you plan heavier multitasking or future upgrades.
