Deal insights
The Greenworks 40V 12 in String Trimmer is a Good Deal, offering mid-range cordless power and a common 12-inch cutting width at a price below recent typical levels. Its 40V battery platform and basic ergonomic features match mid-range expectations, while the single included battery and moderate weight keep it closer to mainstream homeowner use than pro-grade tooling.
Here is why
When selecting string trimmers, compare power source, cutting performance, and usability and comfort. Here is how this product performs:
1.
Power Source (40V platform; battery powered) : Classified as mid-range: a 40V battery platform is typical for mid-range trimmers and aligns with expectations for better torque and runtime than low-voltage budget units. Inclusion of only one battery is common for kit-priced models and may limit continuous runtime compared with two-battery kits.
2.
Cutting Performance (12-inch width; 7, 500 rpm) : Cutting width is toward the lower end of mid-range and matches many homeowner-focused models; mid-range benchmarks often target 13–15 inches, so this is slightly smaller than typical mid-range but in line with common 12-inch offerings. The quoted speed is consistent with consumer trimmers and suggests adequate trimming for light-to-moderate yards.
3.
Usability & Comfort (16.5 pounds; cordless; 1 battery) : Weight and single-battery kit are typical for mainstream mid-range homeowner units rather than premium pro tools; ergonomics benchmarks expect adjustable handles and quick-load heads, which are not detailed here. Buyers who prioritize longer sessions or lighter handling should confirm battery Ah and any auxiliary handles or attachments.
Deal price at $113.99: sits toward the lower end of the mid-range band for string trimmers. It is priced below its recent 90-day average of about $141.63, which makes the current offer more attractive for a 40V battery model.
This Good Deal suits homeowners who want a cordless 40V trimmer for routine edging and light lawn work without paying premium prices. Buyers who need longer runtime or a second battery should consider confirming battery capacity and optional kit bundles; if the condition is renewed or open-box, double-check warranty and return terms.
