Deal insights
The Diamond Sharpening Stone Set & Knife Sharpener Whetstone Kit is a Great Deal, offering a common budget grit progression and diamond plate construction at a price notably below its recent average and below many comparable kits.
Here is why
When selecting sharpening stones, it is helpful to look at grit progression, stone material and usable stone size. Here is how this product performs:
1.
Abrasive Grit (400/1000 stones; 3000 mini) : For a budget-priced kit this grit set is typical and usable for coarse repair through medium refinement. The inclusion of a 3000 mini stone pushes the kit slightly above the simplest pocket plates by adding a finer finishing step common in higher-budget multi-piece kits.
2.
Stone Material (electroplated diamond; lubrication unlisted) : Diamond construction is typical for budget diamond plates and gives fast cutting and low maintenance compared with waterstones. The listing omits recommended lubricant type, which is common for diamond plates but buyers may wish to confirm whether water, oil, or dry use is advised.
3.
Stone Size (7.4"×3.35"×1.57"; mini size unlisted) : The large stone length is in line with the upper range for budget bench stones and offers usable surface area similar to many compact 7–8" stones. The mini stone size is not specified; buyers who need a clear pocket or strop-size reference should double-check the product page.
4.
Included Accessories (angle guide; non-slip bases; silicone mats) : Accessory content is better than the minimal bundles typical at this price, matching the higher end of budget kits that include angle guides and non-slip bases. While accessory-rich kits can be found at mid-range prices, this bundle aligns with a value-oriented offering and improves out-of-box usability.
Deal price at $12.49: sits at the lower end of the budget band for sharpening stones. It is priced below its recent 30-day average of about $24.99, which helps explain the value for a budget multi-piece kit.
Overall, this Great Deal works well for home cooks or hobbyists who want a compact, low-cost sharpening kit with diamond plates and basic accessories. Double-check the mini stone and accessory details and confirm the seller's return or warranty terms if those are important to you.
