Deal insights
The Dell Pro Essential Micro Desktop is a Great Deal, offering a Ryzen 5 150 6-core APU, 8 GB DDR5 and a 512 GB NVMe SSD with a strong I/O suite at a price below recent levels. The configuration matches or exceeds many mid-range compute and connectivity expectations, though RAM is entry-level for heavier multitasking.
Here is why
When selecting mini computers, focus on compute performance, memory and storage, and connectivity and ports. Here is how this product performs:
1.
Compute Performance (Ryzen 5 150; 6 cores; 3.3–4.55 GHz; Radeon 660M) : For an upper mid-range price point, a 6-core Ryzen mobile/desktop APU with Radeon 660M is typical to slightly better than typical mid-range compute. It aligns with the mid-range expectation of 6–8 core mobile/APU class and should deliver solid general productivity and light GPU-accelerated tasks.
2.
Memory & Storage (8 GB DDR5; 4800 MT/s; 512 GB NVMe; upgradable to 64 GB) : Storage capacity is in line with mid-range norms (512 GB NVMe). RAM at 8 GB is toward the lower end for mid-range where 16 GB is more typical; the ability to upgrade to 64 GB mitigates this and is a meaningful value factor.
3.
Connectivity & Ports (Wi‑Fi 6; Bluetooth 5.4; HDMI 2.1) : I/O is at or above typical mid-range benchmarks with full-feature USB-C, HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort plus wired networking. This richer port set is a clear practical advantage for docking and multi-display setups and supports the price positioning.
Deal price at $719: sits in the upper mid-range band for mini computers. It is priced below its recent 90-day average of about $966.78, which makes the current offer notably more competitive for a mainstream OEM.
Overall, this Great Deal fits buyers who want a compact office or home workstation with solid integrated graphics and broad port options. It is well suited for productivity, light content work, and small-scale multitasking; consider upgrading to 16 GB RAM for heavier multitasking or long-term headroom and double-check Dell warranty/return terms.
