Deal insights
BIC Round Stic Xtra Life Blue Ballpoint Pen is a Great Deal, offering the classic smooth oil-based ink and a very large 540-count pack at a price below its recent average. The features match budget-brand expectations (standard 1.0 mm tip, disposable design) while the low per-unit price and the 90-day discount make this a strong value for heavy users or offices.
Here is why
When selecting ballpoint pens, consider ink performance, tip size, pack size, and refillability. Here is how this product performs:
1.
Ink Performance (blue oil-based; smooth flow) : Ink claims align with budget expectations for everyday ballpoints: smooth oil-based style ink typical for low-cost packs. This is typical for the budget segment and consistent with large-pack value rather than specialty ink performance.
2.
Writing Tip Size (1.00 mm; medium tip) : A 1.0 mm medium tip is exactly the common size for budget pens. That matches typical benchmarks and is neither finer nor premium; appropriate for general-purpose writing.
3.
Pack Size (540-count; bulk pack) : This is well above the usual budget multipack range and is a clear bulk-focused offering. Large pack size is the primary value signal here and explains cost-efficiency for heavy users compared with single or small multipacks.
4.
Refillability & Refill Type (non-refillable) : Disposable design matches budget benchmarks where refillability is uncommon. For buyers who want refill systems or premium cartridges, this is weaker than mid-range or premium expectations but normal for high-count economy packs.
Deal price at $36.73: sits well above typical budget multipacks and into the low end of premium bulk pricing for pens. It is priced below its recent 90-day average of about $46.04, which improves the value proposition for a large branded bulk pack.
Overall, this Great Deal fits buyers who need high-volume, reliable everyday pens for office, school, or events. It is particularly worth considering if you prioritize quantity and a familiar BIC writing feel ; double-check shipping and return terms and confirm pack contents on the product page if precise per-unit packaging matters.
