Deal insights
BIC Soft Feel Stick Pens, 1.0 mm, Red, Box of 12 is a Good Deal, offering typical budget-class ink and a common 1.0 mm tip in a standard 12-count pack at a price below recent levels. The features align with expected budget benchmarks and refillability is noted, so the price reduction versus the 90-day average is the main practical upside.
Here is why
When selecting ballpoint pens, focus on ink performance, writing tip size, pack size, and refillability. Here is how this product performs:
1.
Ink Performance (oil-based ink; red ink) : For a budget segment product this ink profile is typical, matching the common oil‑based ballpoint expectation. The listing does not give detailed drying or smear claims, which is normal for this price band and does not materially reduce basic everyday usability.
2.
Writing Tip Size (1.0 mm; medium tip) : A 1.0 mm tip is standard for budget pens and aligns with typical benchmarks for this segment. It is neither finer nor unusually broad, so line width performance should match ordinary medium-ballpoint expectations.
3.
Pack Size (12 count; multipack) : A 12-count pack is squarely within the common budget pack sizes and represents normal value orientation for this price band. Benchmarks show many budget offerings cluster around this pack size, so this is typical.
4.
Refillability & Refill Type (refillable; refill type unlisted) : Noting refillability is slightly stronger than many budget listings where disposability is common, which leans toward better long-term value. The specific refill model is not listed; buyers who plan to replace cartridges regularly should double-check compatibility on the product page.
Deal price at $6.94: sits near the middle of the budget band for ballpoint pens. It is priced below its recent 90-day average of about $8.11, which makes this listing relatively attractive on price.
This Good Deal fits buyers who want reliable everyday red ballpoint pens in a multipack for general writing or office use. Double-check the exact refill model if you plan to use branded refills or want long-term refillability, and confirm return/warranty terms if that matters to you.
