Deal insights
The BIC 4-Color Original Retractable Ballpoint Pen is a Good Deal, offering the expected oil-based multicolor convenience, a standard 1.0 mm tip, and refillable compatibility at a budget-friendly price with reliable brand recognition.
Here is why
When selecting ballpoint pens, compare ink performance, tip size, pack size, and refillability. Here is how this product performs:
1.
Ink Performance (oil-based ink; four-color barrel) : This matches budget expectations for oil-based ballpoint ink, offering basic smoothness and quick-dry claims typical of this band. It is not positioned as a mid-range low-viscosity or archival ink, which is consistent with the price and brand role.
2.
Writing Tip Size (1.0 mm tip) : A 1.0 mm tip is typical for budget pens and sits squarely within expected ranges. Buyers wanting finer 0.5–0.7 mm precision would look at higher-priced or mid-range models.
3.
Pack Size (3 count) : A 3-count pack is smaller than the common budget multipacks but aligns with convenience-focused SKUs; the price per pen will be higher than larger bulk packs, which is normal for small multipacks.
4.
Refillability & Refill Type (refillable; standard refills) : Explicit refillability is a stronger signal than many budget listings, where disposability is common. This feature leans toward mid-range practice in terms of user value even though the ink chemistry remains budget-class.
Deal price at $5.99: sits near typical budget levels for ballpoint pens. It is slightly above its recent 90-day average of about $5.53, which is a small difference for a well-known budget brand.
This Good Deal is suitable for students, offices, and anyone who values a compact multicolor retraceable pen for everyday note-taking. Buyers who care about very fine lines or specialty ink should confirm tip options and refill types, and consider warranty/returns if purchasing many units.
