Deal insights
The Autel MK808Z OBD2 Scanner Diagnostic Tool is a Good Deal, offering OE-level diagnostic features and broad vehicle support at a price below its recent average. The feature set (all-system diagnostics, bi-directional tests, DoIP/CAN FD support and tablet-style connectivity) aligns closer to premium expectations, while the sub-typical price versus the 30-day average improves value.
Here is why
When selecting code readers & scan tools, focus on diagnostic capability, vehicle coverage, and connectivity/data features. Here is how this product performs:
1.
Diagnostic Capability (all-system diagnostics; bi-directional tests; OE-level access) : At this price point the diagnostic feature set maps toward premium capability. The presence of OE-level access and bi-directional tests is noticeably better than typical mid-range scanners and consistent with higher-end tablet tools.
2.
Vehicle Coverage (180+ brands; DoIP support; CAN FD support) : Coverage is in line with premium expectations where many brands and DoIP/CAN FD support are common. This is stronger than typical mid-range units and supports the product's positioning versus cheaper generic readers.
3.
Connectivity & Data (Android 11; dual-band Wi‑Fi; 64GB storage) : Connectivity and onboard resources match premium tablet-style scanners that offer live graphing, data export and OTA updates. These specs are noticeably better than budget/mid-range norms and support practical use for logging and report export; confirm update policy for ongoing coverage.
Deal price at $379: sits in the lower-to-mid part of the premium band for scan tools. It is priced below its recent 30-day average of about $453.76, which makes the current offer more attractive for a brand with OE-level claims.
Overall, this Good Deal suits technicians and advanced DIYers who need wide brand coverage, active tests and a tablet-like interface without paying typical premium pricing. Double-check update policy and warranty terms since dealer-level functions and long-term software support matter for value, especially if you plan ECU coding or frequent model updates.
