Deal insights
The AMTIFO OBD2 Scanner Bluetooth Diagnostic Tool is a Great Deal, offering basic real-time data, code read/clear and simple battery/emissions checks at a price that is clearly below recent typical levels for similar budget adapters.
Here is why
When selecting code readers & scan tools, compare diagnostic capability, vehicle coverage, and connectivity and data features. Here is how this product performs:
1.
Diagnostic Capability (real-time data; read/clear codes; battery test) : Mapped to the budget segment, these functions match typical low-cost adapters that offer engine/emissions DTCs, live PIDs and simple battery or readiness checks. This is typical for budget-level tools and consistent with the listed price; it does not claim multi-system or advanced service functions.
2.
Vehicle Coverage (OBD-II compliant; universal fit) : Coverage is typical for budget dongles: generic OBD-II support for 1996+ passenger vehicles rather than manufacturer-specific systems. This aligns with expectations given the low price and does not imply ABS/SRS or transmission access.
3.
Connectivity & Data (Bluetooth connectivity; Android 4.0; YMOBD app) : Connectivity is consistent with low-cost Bluetooth ELM327-style adapters that pair with Android apps. The listing notes Android support and an app but does not confirm iOS; that omission is common for budget adapters and worth double-checking if you need iPhone compatibility.
Deal price at $13.49: sits well within the budget band for basic OBD-II adapters and dongles. It is priced below its recent 90-day average of about $30.49, which is consistent with a budget adapter or a discounted entry-level dongle.
Overall, this Great Deal fits buyers who want an inexpensive OBD-II Bluetooth adapter for basic engine/emissions troubleshooting and live PID viewing. Confirm Android compatibility and app features in the YMOBD app listing and double-check iOS support if you plan to use an iPhone; consider warranty/return terms since this is a low-cost adapter.
