Deal insights
The 26" Cactus Cat Scratching Post is a Great Deal, offering expected single-post materials and a weighted base at a price well below its recent average. The post size and sisal surface match typical budget expectations while the weighted wooden base and anti-tip note improve expected stability for the price.
Here is why
When selecting cat scratching posts, focus on stability and durability, height/size, and surface material. Here is how this product performs:
1.
Stability & Durability (weighted wooden base; anti-tip design; 5.9 lb) : For a budget-segment price this base and anti-tip claim are toward the higher end of typical budget construction. Benchmark notes show many budget posts use light bases, so the weighted wooden base and explicit anti-tip feature are meaningful positives for stability at this price.
2.
Size (25.6" tall) : Height is squarely within the common budget range and near typical single-post sizes; it suits most adult cats but is shorter than many mid-range towers that reach 28–45 in. Buyers of very large cats may prefer taller, multi-level options.
3.
Surface Material (sisal rope; chenille top; plush toys) : Sisal rope is the expected material and aligns with budget benchmarks; the addition of a plush top and toys is common for lower-price posts and improves perceived value without moving into mid-range material quality like thicker machine-wound sisal.
Deal price at $19.43: sits near the lower end of the budget band for cat scratching posts. It is priced below its recent 30-day average of about $34.51, which makes the price more attractive for a single-post model.
Overall, this Great Deal is a good fit for cat owners seeking an affordable single vertical post with sisal scratching surface and a more stable base than many ultra-cheap options. Double-check return policy and assembly instructions and confirm the base footprint if you have a large or very active cat.
